Joined by English rose Pauline Kirke on cello CHI2 STRINGS have been working together with MOBY for almost 3 years. They've just finished touring the '18' album in Europe this Autumn and America/Canada in the summer including the AREA2 festival. With a all-star line-up of David Bowie, Ash, Busta Rhymes, Blue Man Group, Avalanches to name a few, this followed up last summer's very successful AREA:ONE festival which included OutKast, Incubus, New Order, Nelly Furtado, The Orb. They also toured with him towards the end of his mammoth two-year long tour 'PLAY' tour in 2000. They also played live on MTV Awards in Stockholm, Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo and Sarah played an acoustic version of Porcelain with Moby live on Mark and Lard's Radio 1 show (see Moby tour pix in the 'more pics' section).
Look out for Moby's Grammy nominated PLAY DVD and PLAY VIDEO (out now!) featuring footage of their performance with him on Jools Holland's Later Presents Moby with an acoustic version of 'Porcelain' featuring Moby on guitar and Sarah on improvised violin.
Chi2 Strings have also recently recorded for forthcoming albums for ECHOBOY, TRANSIT KINGS (Alex Paterson - The Orb, Jimmy Cauty - KLF, Guy Pratt - Pink Floyd), and performed live in London with NELLY FURTADO filmed for MTV US.
Teaming up with viola player Saskia Tomkins (and in between their tour with Moby!) the girls worked with rockers URIAH HEEP on a special Unplugged acoustic concert to celebrate their 30th birthday called 'Acoustically Driven' which was filmed at the Mermaid Theatre in Blackfriars with special guest Ian Anderson (of Jethro Tull fame). This concert will be released as a TV special next year and also on CD and DVD (more details at Uriah Heep).
